The Striped Bass fishing has been about as good as it gets, live macs have been the key. Had Meredith and her group out for a spectacular day of livelining large Bass, limited out in a few hours once we got on the fish using live Mackeral. As the waters warm up a bit it will be tougher to get the live baits as Bluefish will be invading our waters soon. On the Tuna front, well we got a nice 95" market fish this past week, unfortunately broke off another but that's how it rolls. The fish are here and now is the time to book a trip, I only have so many dates left and then we're into the fall. Flounder fishing has been on again off again. Right now it's on again. The Cod and Haddock fishing has been a consistent bite out on Jeffries.

Tight Lines,

Capt. This fishery will only go on so much longer so if you're interested in catching some really BIG Codfish now is the time to get out there. On the Striper front the mouth seemed to be the place to be the past week with fish up to 30lbs there every day, live macs seem to be the ticket. The Bluefin Tuna ticket seems to be to the south, will start to target them after this next week passes and then it's off after the Tunas.

Tight Lines,

Capt. What a day it was, gorgeous weather with a mild SW breeze to start the morning. We arrived at the Cod grounds to find a fleet of 60 or so boats but that did nothing to dampen our spirits or the bite. Ended up filling a box of nice Cod largest being over 40lbs in short order. We then headed inshore to finish day with some Striped Bass, made bait and caught some nice Stripers, smallest being 25lbs and largest close to 40lb. All in all a great day of fishing with a really fun group to have on board. I think this groups' next adventure will either be School Bluefin or Sharks. Thanks to all who make this happen including my mate, Mike, who makes my job ALOT easier.

Capt. We decided to hit a couple of inshore spots on our way out, well it was a good move, the Cod and Haddock were there, we did have to fish through many 'shorts' but the keepers were coming over the gunnels at a fairly consistent rate. It was a great day to drift as the gentle SE breeze made for confortable conditions and by the end of the day Mike had his hands full with filleting. Thanks to Lou and his boys for sticking with it and the prize, plenty of fresh fillets that will last them quite a while. On the report side, the Mackeral are here, we were marking them in good numbers so it will not be long before big hungry Striped Bass are chasing them. Will be moving boat up to Newburyport this week to do our summer Striped Bass charters off the Merrimac, please visit website for information and prices if you'd like to get out after them.

Thanks,

Capt. You could not ask for better day to be on the water as it was just as calm as could be. Hit the Cod grounds to find a fleet of 100 or so boats and Nets everywhere, boy did that change things quickly as the easy lock n load fishing was today a slow pick, we did manage quite a bunch of nice market sized Cod but really had to work for them, the crew was great as its alot of work to keep picking up and moving to stay on the schools. Later in the day we decided to take a run to the North with. We hit a couple of spots with limited results. Packing it up and heading in I noticed a little hump on the chartplotter about halfway to home so we made a quick stop there and 'Bang' hit em good, nice sized Cod and some of the largest Haddock I have ever caught before, that stop ended the trip on a very positive note. Great day on the water with a fun bunch to take out.

Capt. Great bunch of guys and all fishermen to boot. Found plenty of boats at the NWC Sunday morning so we trolled towards the Southeast, I want to find some of our own water to work, can't handle trolling in fleet of 150 boats. All by ourselves we find some fish and Bang!!! Swimmer goes off, all hands do their job and Tim slips on belt and begins a 20 minute fight. See color and we're ready to gaff when POP and plug comes back Without the fish, oh well....Been there done that!....Set back in and within 10 minutes we're on again but this time fish gets the gaff and we're on the board. Marked well for the rest of the morning but no love. Back out yesterday and there's wayyyy less boats, bite goes off just before slack and within an hour and half we've had three fish to the boat, one for dinner two get the tag. Again quiet the rest of the day. All fish hitting swimmers. Couldn't get a sniff on anything up top whereas in previous trips it was the sluggos and the Ocean Lure halfbeak plug that was taking em'. Well be back out this week and will continue with the reports. We're gonna fish these well into November as the Kelly Ann is built for foul weather and I always keep the heat on in the cabin...I hate the cold!

Capt. Lots of fun for anglers. The Striped Bass has hit the August doldrums a bit but we still managed quite a few keeper Bass on every trip thus far. The Cod/Haddock are still out on Jeffrey's in good numbers and we've been targeting them around the area of the ridge with success. We finally managed a Tuna trip this week and ended up with a very respectable 125lber. caught on the troll down off Stellwagon. There are loads of fish down there and they are on the feed, so its TUNA TIME!!! There are also plenty of big Blue Sharks moving onto the ledges and we will start targeting them in the next week or two....Stay tuned. With fall around the corner the water temps will start to fall and the fish will become hungry, that's why I love fall fishing. Till next week, take care and tight lines....Capt. Since the beginning of the year we have been lucky enough to have Mackeral here to use as live bait, but all that changed this past week as the Bluefish have invaded our local waters. They are here in outstanding numbers....Now is the time to go after these fun fighting fish. Giant and School Bluefin Tuna have also come in and we will begin targeting them this week. We will continue to run inshore Striped Bass and Bluefish trips as long as the fish stay. Starting Sept. 1st it will be offshore Tuna time!!! If you cannot get together six friends to share the price of a full day charter, please give me a call or shoot me an email and we'll see if we can either put together a shared trip or we'll also be running a per person Bluefin Tuna rate....Call for details. Saturday's charter saw fantastic action almost limiting out on some very large Bass for Warren and crew. Kudos to 8 year old John Taylor, I have never seen anyone as relentless as this young man jigging mackeral for a solid, and I mean solid six hours. Last picture is of a fish we took out of a Striper's belly? Anyone know what it is??? Till next week, tight lines....

Capt.
